Recording Electric Rhodes with : DAVE LAGRANDE

In order to get a 70’s sound from a Rhodes piano and electric pianos lines Philippe & Gabriel did reach out to Dave Lagrande based in Nashville. Dave Lagrande based in Nashville.

Dave Lagrande has been very active in the Nashville music scene from his gig with Opry legend Mel McDaniel (Baby’s Got Her Blue Jeans On). Then joined Trick Pony, Heidi Newfield who was starting a solo artist career that would result in scoring a top 10 single (Johnny & June) and a #2 billboard charting album in 2008. The album (What Am I Waiting For) also won 5 ACM nominations in 2009 – and an Academy of Country Music Awards in 2009. In 2012 Dave Lagrande joined the band Sister Hazel.

Through an online collaboration he recorded the Rhodes behind La Nuit, Inspiration and several other songs. He found the right balance between keeping things simple but slightly jazzy and his beautifully crafted licks give a warm sound to those songs. Thanks again Dave!
